The question of classical (and other points)...

I have been having bad luck this week. BAD LUCK. I lost my I Phone on wednesday (failed again) and woke up yesterday morning to find my bike had been trashed (yet again). Generally I have been feeling gloomy. It is the rain ... and the need to fill the "void" the "Love Void"///SAD BUT TRUE. Just general greyness.. leading to self destruction. That sort of thing. Any way ..moving on. I am not going to mope. I feel this way but I would rather look to the future. However confusing it is.. there is always something.
Turn my life around. Go for it girl. You have so much going for you. you just need a rest.
Yesterday I booked tickets for a concert of Mozart's Idanameo (his first opera) courtesy once again of the Barbican free - b. I do not normally go for the classical music concerts. Not for any particular reason ( I grew up playing the cello and in actual fact I think some classical music is bloody fantastic... listening to an orchestra live is the ultimate experience in having music wash over you. I always likes it... I think it is just that thing of it not being cool.. or a different class. The opera is a different class? Not that I know why. What makes listening to sopranos more "cultured" than watching Eastenders? Really it is just snobbery. . . and down to upbringing / personal taste... trying things out.
Anyway unfortunately the bike issue caused a bit of a problem. It was another thing on the big list of bad luck. "I can't take this anymore! I can't take this anymore! " Melo - drama appears. Why am I so god-damn melodramatic? ... I guess I enjoy it.
Anyway it is bad luck. I use my bike all the time and I am not made of money. The decision came to buy a new folding bike and store it inside... I have.. It is pretty and hopefully will .. well work. No more trashed bike.
Back to the opera. It was rather beautiful really. Orchestras are funny. You see them all bobbing up and down and the conductor standing there attempting to embody the music but you can't help but get swept away. The story was a classic. A story of war, Greek mythology, neptune, the sea, love, death and sacrifice. Much like my life really. Melo dramatic, suicidal and desperately emotional. How could I not enjoy it? In fact I think being an opera singer would be my perfect job.
It was good.. certainly the applause showed it was good. Traditional (although not staged) and simple (apart from the sub -titles which were rather humorous... if not distracting!) Most of all though.. it is good to experience life. Try out everything. Fill your days with time. Fill your days with music. All music. Listen to the world. That is what I have to say.
And as for the bike situation.. hopefully the wrath of the gods to me is over.. and if it hadn't got trashed yesterday I wouldn't have been able to ride back home in the middle of the night on a Boris bike. I was laughing and wobbling all the way!

The tale of Bluey the bitter bicycle.

Once upon a time there was a bicycle named Bluey.  Bluey was a mountain bike and loved to be ridden. He loved being pedalled through forests and along rivers, over mountains and through parks. He loved showing off his 80s sports stripes and feeling the wind in his hair. Everything was happy.
The years passed and Bluey spent his time being well looked after and riding with a whole family of bikes. They would go on exciting  trips together and afterwards return to a nice warm garage.
Gradually over the years though his family grew up and grew apart and he was left for longer and longer spans of time in the warm but lonely garage.
Bluey thought he was forgotten. He began to hate his owners. How could they desert him like this?
This hatred grew into a deep held grudge and he vowed if he was ever needed again he would make his owners life hell..  show who was in control.
The years passed....
and the years passed...
And then one day sunlight. Bright sunlight and what was that... The touch of someone oiling him up and rubbing down his brakes. He couldn't help but feel a bit of excitememt. Oh ... maybe, he thought, it hadn't been his owners fault, maybe it hadn't been that long, maybe he could just forget it and enjoy the world around him once more. But, to no avail!
He found himself in a dark, grey, smelly city with road upon road, car upon car and building after building. He hated it. There were no special trips or fun journeys. The same old road/car/road/car... what was worse was there was no safe place for him to rest. He had to endure the horrible grey outdoors all day and all night. The snow, the wind, the cold , the rain, the dirt. Bluey hated life he wanted it to end. He wanted to make his owners life hard. He didn't want to help her... why should he?
He began advertising himself as a good target hoping to be taken to a new home and then one day it worked. Someone new came along and took him away. He was filled with hope but his life was then even harder. He was taken to a dump and thrown away. Bluey died. This was not the end.
You see Bluey had a twin and they shared one heart. Blueys twin was soon sent to replace Bluey 1 and      the torment continued.
The hate was even stronger. Again Bluey advertised himself for being taken but this time only a wheel was set free. The next time someone tried to rescue him they didn't succeed and he ended up all twisted and broken. Oh. This was even worse. It seemed all people were horrible.
What Bluey didn't know was his owner loved him; Each time something happened she got him fixed and mended .... she couldn't help that she couldn't give him the life he wanted.
Bluey still hated her. He came up with a new plan. One day he was parked on Oxford Street and suddenly a thought came to him. He liked the bright lights and the buzz... maybe he could stay here. When his owner came to collect him he bit off her key in his lock and she couldn't take him home. "yay" he squeaked ... what could she do now? But night fell and the next night and the next night and he started to realise he was still outside in the cold but he was getting stiff. Oh. If only it could end? But there she was... with a giant pair of cutters and he was free and his life continued.
Bluey got more depressed and more rusty.
More desperate.
One day he couldn't take it anymore and decided to explode. His tyres blew up and he couldn't be cycled. But... his owner loved him. She carried him home. She felt sorry for him not angry. She realised how much she needed him and she loved him. She took him to the friendly shop and asked for them to give him special treatment. Clean him and polish him. Oil him and rub him down. Give him new tyres and take off the horrible mud guards. Make him in to a road bike. Then maybe he would be happy :).

whitching hour

Out on the halloween weekend and something seriously went spooky.
It wasn't even halloween night (we missed that because of the weekends circumstances)
but witches/ faries/ ghosts or ghouls were defenately at work.

So friday night off we went to the warehouse party of the century... yes drunk, late and a bit tired but we arrived stood outside for a bit and talked to some friends, did a couple of photos for disorder magazine and entered. This is when things started to get spooked... I had a dangerous liason on the toilet came out and met wolfie who was running about like a mad thing, we kept bumping into people and I chatted to a film director. Then i decided to get some water we danced and finally headed for the cloakroom. This is the last thing we remeber before waking up at half one the next day. I mean serious serious serious memory wipe. We have no idea what happened! This is unusual... we didn't drink or take drugs but the next morning... NOTHING. And I mean nothing. There we were completely naked clothes folded up? Earings out... hair clips out home in bed. Me with a massive gash on my back and the biggest bump on my head purseless and short of 100 pounds. Alex with a broken shoe ... pursless, cardless, IDless and phoneless... Our clothes... folded up but covered in mud? Nothing no memory nothing.

We both veel incredibly uneasy and KNOW something happened??? But what? Magic?
Anyway we then walked for 6 hours from East London to sutton.. to be rescued by out parents/
FAIL!!

Faith in people

The sun has been shining and I am hoping this is the beginning of my returned good fortune.
Faith in people...
My camera has been handed in! A month later and it's found. Not everyone is bad and maybe it means people aren;t inherently evil... although we all want a michevious side!
I can't stop smiling.
Summer is coming.
I really feel like this is the start of the best time ever. Everything is going well.
A beaitiful world.
...and although Nina Simone will forever be wonderful, today I just feel like muse...

this song will be beautiful in any form... (lets ignore the drugs for now and pretend it is just about summer) and today a beautiful boy singing it makes it even better. :)
