Scorpio Rising
Yesterday I got up super early to go to a viewing of Scorpio Rising at The Whitechapel gallery.
Although not my favourite of his works the grounbreaking film is still beautiful and full of complex symbolism that I find truly inspiring.
The bikes are in my mind.
I was born to be like this.
Early morning is nothing.
Late nights are everything.
The sun is fresher like this.
Leather is starving your soul.
Feeding mine.
Something is on fire.

Susu Laroche
KHTM from XIXXII on Vimeo.
It is currently degree show mayhem and I certainly have a lot to say on the matter, especially on St Martins, I just don't quite no where to start.
So here I begin. Before I write a proper review with my favourite piece from the Fine Art BA Show at Charing Cross Road. Something that had an effect on me. Made me question behaviour, ritual and aesthetically pleased me. That is it for now. The above is a short clip. I love it. Check out http://susularoche.com/ for more.

Invocation of my demon brother
A film by Kenneth Anger
Music by Mick Jagger
Kenneth Anger is an underground experimental film maker, actor and artist. His work is influenced by the surreal, the occult and the homoerotic... this particular piece emerging from the hippie scene in America and the then legal LSD. A shorter work than Lucifer Rising... watch and enjoy.

ban religion

by Gilbert and George
This isn't serious it is just words on paper. It isn't a plea but a statement. No rules are inplied... what's the point?
But it shows.. religion isn;t born it isn't a feeling it is a regime a way of living. It isn't the morals it teaches (which are genrally good) but the repression, war, fear, blindlessness and corruption. No the goodness isn't wrong but everything else is. Open up your mind and see where you lead...

Icon of concrete death (the pigeon)
The bloodied head of the dead
On the floor of the city
A crimson monument to the ascendence of life.
A beauty
A shell of wonder
Rubbish to ponder?
An idol
A symbole
A colourful tragedy or positivety?
Disarden and wasted
Objective
Not there
The monster of modernity
Martyrs the miracle of life
Or death?
Sacred soliliquey
Singing the silence of society
Iconography
Why have you forsaken me?

The all seeing eye

Horus, the sun of Osiris and Isis was called ‘Horus who rules with two eyes’. His right eye was white and represented the sun: his left eye was black and represented the moon. According to the myth, Horus lost his left eye to his evil brother, Seth, who he fought to avenge Seth’s murder of Osiris. Seth tore out of the eye but lost the fight. The eye was reassembled by magic, by Thoth, the god of writing, the moon and magic. Horus presented his eye to Osiris, who experienced rebirth in the underworld.

iconism and idolism; electricity a modern day alter
The modern day world is one reolving around technology however as human beings we also still live in a world domenated by our relationship with people we have never met. We worship and we adorre yet we are all narcisists. It is the way we are conditioned. In reality we worship modern life.
I am not sure about sex .. that goes without saying but celebrity + technology = the future.
